Clout

Tools, Options menu entryFinding the Outlook Add-Ins Information

A useful technique to problem resolution is to look at information buried deep inside Outlook in the add-ins settings page... but that can be a bit of trouble to find. That's what this page shows you how to do.

First, click on the Tools menu in Outlook, and click on Options... at the bottom of the menu.

Options Dialog, 'Other' tabIn the resulting Options dialog, select the Other tab, and then click the Advanced Options... button:

Advanced Options DialogNow in the Advanced Options dialog, click the COM Add-ins... button:

COM Add-Ins DialogFinally, we've reached the screen that you need to see, that lists any plugins that you have installed. For the purposes of Clout support, ensure that the Clout plugin is selected, as shown in the screen-shot.

Ensure that the check-box next to the Clout entry is shown ticked.

If there has been an error loading Clout, it will be documented in the Load Behaviour section highlighted.

This screenshot shows a healthy installation with the text Load at Startup.

Further Notes about the Add-In Page

Although you can use this dialog to enable and disable add-ins like Clout, we do not recommend that you use this form to disable Clout yourself.

If you want to disable the display of Clout short-term, right-click the Clout toolbar, and uncheck the box next to the Clout entry (you can re-enable it by reversing the procedure.

On the other hand, if you want to uninstall Clout, please follow the uninstall instructions.
